In an office environment company keys can have access to high volumes of information stored away in a securely locked cabinet.   Access to this type of storage unit is usually by key and businesses have long since realised the importance of holding their keys in a secure location to protect the confidentiality of the documents they allow access to.

An estate agent will store numerous keys for client’s property in the surrounding area.   These particular keys are invaluable in safeguarding against uninvited access to private property and therefore impart a huge responsibility on the estate agents for their safe keeping.

For this reason, universities, councils and other organisation utilise key cabinets to secure their keys.   These are usually made of either metal or steel and come in a variety of sizes.   Key cabinets are designed to fit in a variety of locations and it is important to consider where you will store it.   Wall mounted cabinets are the most common cabinets available, but portable cabinets are also available.   If you require storage for numerous key, large fixed units with extra depth are ideal.   Glass fronted key cabinets are also available, making it easier to spot the particular key you are looking for without having to open the cabinet.

Access to key cabinets is usually either via a key locking system or an electronic code.   Either option is secure,  and what will work best for you usually depends on what suits your needs more e.g. level of security, multi access, alarm system etc.

Whatever your requirement, be sure that you consider the minimised risk secure key cabinets provide against loss, damage or theft.
