After much persuasion from my husband I finally decided to invest in a fire resistant safe for our home. My first thought was that it would be a waste of money as we don’t own many items of financial value and there has not been a fire on our street for as long as I can remember. But I was eventually talked into it as a precautionary measure to protect our more sentimental possessions.
And how glad I am that I did! A few weeks after purchasing the fire resistant safe we had a bit of a fire scare after a pair of hair straighteners were left switched on in our bedroom whilst we were away for the weekend. Luckily for us the damage was minimal, however my husband will not let me live it down and can’t tell me ‘I told you so’ enough – I have to admit, this time he was right!
